The historic Palomar Observatory is endangered as the fire on top of Palomar Mountain crests the peak. The Palomar fire (Poomacha/Witch Fires) is the last remaining major fire event in San Diego County.The Horno Fire continues to burn aggressively on open land on the Camp Pendleton Marine Base. The other fires, while still burning, are no longer serious dangers.
