I put the odds at 50-50 that George Bush will bomb Iran in late November. Several Democrats have suggested impeaching Bush if he attacks Iran. That is all well and good, but it is not enough. Bush is leaving office and has demonstrated many times he doesn't give a crap what people think. Impeachment is an empty threat because it doesn't carry any punishment.
Lawyers should be working now on criminal indictments of Bush should he begin a war with Iran without the approval of Congress. Starting such a war would be a willful and depraved indifference to human life. Certainly it would be a war crime. Make plans now to prosecute Bush. Have all of the groundwork ready to arrest Bush on January 21, 2009.
